The Windows release works, but I can't get the Linux version to run. I recommend creating a "portable.txt" file in the same folder as the executable.

NFL Quarterback Club 99

Reported by Ashthorne Gaming
Submitted on February 19, 2026
Status Works with Tweaks
Game Type Emulated
System Kazeta+
Runtime Windows 1.1
Store Store Link
DRM DRM-Free
Compression ❌ Untested
Notes:
The game doesn't run on the Nintendo 64 runtime, but it does run under the Windows release of Gopher64: https://github.com/gopher64/gopher64 (The Linux version doesn't seem to launch at all no matter what I try so feel free to experiment with that.) You'll need to create an empty text file titled "portable.txt" in the same folder as the Gopher64 executable if you want controller support. Then with a controller plugged into your main PC, launch Gopher64 through Proton (Wine on its own doesn't load the GUI font) and under 'Controller Config' select 'XInput Controller #1'. You can also add controllers to the remaining three players here if you plan on playing the game with others. You can also edit the new "config.json" file in the newly created path '(Name of cartridge)/portable_data/config' manually to force nonexistent players for future-proofing your game.
